Olufemi S. Sode, RN, BSN, is a nursing professional and healthcare leader with more than 17 years of experience across acute care, long-term care, community health, and home health. As President and CEO and Director of Nursing of Total Health Care Services, he brings together clinical experience, leadership, education, and a strong commitment to patient-centered care.

His professional journey began with a Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) certification after high school and continued through Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) education, earning his LPN credential in 2007, followed by an associate degree in nursing and Registered Nursing (RN) education, becoming an RN in 2021. He later earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and pursued graduate-level education as part of his continued professional development. This progression from entry-level healthcare training to nursing leadership has shaped his understanding of patient care, clinical practice, and the responsibilities involved in leading healthcare teams.

A Career Built Through Experience and Leadership

Throughout his career, Olufemi has worked across multiple areas of healthcare, including psychiatric and mental health nursing, acute care, long-term care, community health, and home health. His experience in home health has become an important part of his professional focus, where nursing requires careful assessment of each patient’s home environment, support system, and individual circumstances, along with communication, family education, adaptability, and practical problem-solving.

In his leadership roles with Total Health Care Services in Florida and New Jersey, Olufemi is involved in nursing leadership, staff development, training, mentorship, and healthcare process improvement. His experience across different stages of nursing allows him to approach leadership with an understanding of both clinical responsibilities and the needs of the professionals delivering care.

Advancing Nursing Through Education

Education has remained an important part of Olufemi’s work. Drawing from his clinical experience and work with nursing students, he has contributed to nursing education and NCLEX preparation.

He is the author of NCLEX-RN/LPN Last Minute Comprehensive Review Book, a resource focused on helping nursing students approach licensure preparation with greater structure, clinical judgment, and strategic review. His work with aspiring nurses reflects his broader commitment to mentorship and continued learning within the nursing profession.

For Olufemi, nursing leadership remains closely connected to patient care. His approach emphasizes listening to patients, understanding their individual circumstances, and considering the people and environments that influence their care. Originally from Lagos, Nigeria, his personal journey and experience across cultures have also shaped his understanding of communication, cultural awareness, and individualized care. He also emphasizes the importance of family and caregiver support, advocacy, education, and practical problem-solving in helping patients navigate their care.

His philosophy of care has developed through years of clinical experience: effective healthcare begins with understanding the person receiving care. By combining clinical knowledge, mentorship, and leadership, he continues to support a culture centered on quality care and patient needs.

Beyond His Professional Career

Outside of healthcare, Olufemi enjoys reading, writing, traveling, baseball, and soccer. His interests extend beyond his professional responsibilities, giving a broader perspective on the person behind his work in nursing and healthcare leadership.
